What is the DoD 8570.1-M? It’s part of a directive that’s part "Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program" which mandates that every full- and part-time military service member, defense contractor, civilian and foreign employee with privileged access to a DoD system, regardless of job series or occupational specialty obtains a commercial certification credential that has been accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Palaestra Training (www.palaestratraining.com) has created a CompTIA A+ certification series that will prepare personnel for CompTIA A+ Certification. CompTIA A+ certification meets the T1 requirements of the directive. CompTIA A+ Certification is the cornerstone of any IT career and allows a student to secure a position in a wide variety of industries.

Found a VERY nifty tool that allows you to write blogs offline, and sync them up to your blog (either a hosted blog service, or your own) and get the benefit of full WYSIWYG editing tools. There are a number of other offline tools out there, so this certainly isn’t the first one of it’s kind (just the first one I’ve used).
You can download Windows Live Writer at their website. The product is still in beta, but so far it seems really nice. Check it out for yourself if you’re a blogger as it has the ability to connect to multiple blogs and blogging systems (WordPress, Movable Type, etc) and allows you access all the sites you blog to in one place.

I came across a really nice looking piece of equipment earlier today from a company called MVIXUSA (www.mvixusa.com) which has created a truly portable, wireless media center for your home entertainment center. The device I’m talking about is the MX-760HD and it looks like it might fit nicely with any home entertainment center.
This device allows you to play pretty much any video format on your standard or high-def TV, and stream content wirelessly from your PC. So all those videos you’ve downloaded can be played directly on your TV rather than watching on your desktop PC or laptop.
You can put in pretty much any size hard drive into the unit, to give yourself a boatload of storage, which allows you to keep your content local and take it with you if you want to watch all those movies in the car, boat, etc.
Check out their website for more information. If anyone has this unit, I’d love to hear how you like it.
MVIXUSA, if you’d like a great in-depth review of your product, feel free to contact me at send a unit for review.

If you’re looking for a crash course on the ins and outs of buying and selling websites, identifying niche markets and learning how to determine a site’s value, the folks from StomperNet have created a new site/system called Dominiche to teach you just that.
Check them out, they have a few free videos that give you some great insight in their system.

Looks like someone forgot the do the final round of user testing on this ATM, which is displaying the Windows XP Activation message! I wouldn’t want to be in the IT group that signed off on that user testing.
It’s amazing how things that seem like they should be a no-brainer slip through the cracks.
Hopefully this is a doctored photo, but something tells me it’s not.
